
Provincial Day of Remembrance and Mourning for Victims of Lapu Lapu Day Festival – May 2, 2025
Premier David Eby has declared Friday, May 2, 2025, as a provincial day of remembrance and mourning to honour the victims of the Lapu Lapu tragedy. This day offers an opportunity for British Columbians to grieve together and recognize the victims’ contributions to their communities.
An online book of condolences is available for signing until Monday, May 5.
Flags across the province, including in our district, will remain at half-mast until sunset on Sunday, May 4. They will return to full mast on Monday morning, May 5, when school resumes.
